The Sheltering Hearts Fundraising Banquet, held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Dove Pointe, emerged as a resounding success, rallying approximately 200 compassionate souls in support of the Christian Shelter. This heartwarming event not only raised approximately $80,000 but also showcased the unwavering commitment of the community towards addressing homelessness with compassion and solidarity.

The evening was adorned with insightful addresses and inspiring performances. Dr. William Warren, the esteemed Pastor of Allen Memorial Baptist Church, captivated the audience with his poignant words, stirring hearts and reaffirming the importance of compassion and empathy in our communities. Serving as the emcee was Mr. Marty Neat, former President and CEO of First Shore Federal Bank, whose charismatic presence added a touch of elegance to the proceedings. Mayor Randy Taylor’s warm welcoming remarks resonated with attendees.
The melodious tunes from the GMO Praise and Worship Team filled the room with harmony, creating an atmosphere of unity and hope.
