What do I need to know to volunteer at The Christian Shelter?
Before applying to volunteer, please familiarize yourself with our requirements and possible volunteer positions!
AGE REQUIREMENTS
Youth volunteers (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times while at the shelter. There are a limited number of roles that youth volunteers are permitted to fill.
TIME COMMITMENTS
In order to make the best use of everyone’s time, the shelter asks individual volunteers to commit to a minimum of 2 hours of continuous work while at the shelter. One time volunteer opportunities may be available as needed.
TRAINING
All new volunteers will receive training with the Volunteer Manager or someone they designate. Training can be scheduled individually or as a group with the Volunteer Manager. Training times will vary depending on the tasks being performed.
