How do I access Shelter services?

Either call the Christian Shelter at 410-749-5673 or simply stop by the shelter at 334 Barclay Street, Salisbury, MD, during the daytime hours of 9:00am – 7:00pm to speak with a staff member.

Does the Shelter help guests find jobs?

To avoid duplicating services that already exist, the shelter works closely with other agencies in the community as well as workforce development groups that provide employment opportunities and possible training for those who seek help.

How do I reach someone who may be staying at the Shelter?

The names of the guests who stay at the shelter are kept confidential. Anyone who wishes to contact someone they believe to be staying at the shelter may call the shelter and speak with a staff member or leave a message. If the person is at the shelter and can be identified by the staff, they will get the message and can call you back.

Where do guests go during the daytime hours?

The shelter is closed to the guests between the hours of 8:30AM – 4:00PM. Some guests may work night shifts and will need to sleep in their assigned beds during the day and will be allowed to do so if they have received approval from the staff. Others that are not working will need to have breakfast then depart the shelter and not returning until after 4:00PM.

Does the Shelter find housing for the guests?

Again, the shelter works through other local agencies that can assist Christian Shelter guests in finding more permanent housing during their stay at the shelter.

Does the Shelter provide meals to the guests each day?

Each day, all guests can have a full breakfast at 7:00AM and a hot dinner at 5:00PM that is served in the dining area of the shelter. For guests that have jobs during the day and are not at the shelter, a bag lunch will be provided for them to take with them for work.
