Our Provision
Christian Shelter, Inc. is a
tax-exempt, charitable organization, provided for through the generosity of
God's people. The shelter receives no governmental financial support.
While not affiliated with any particular denomination, it receives a large
portion of its support from local churches and Christian groups and
individuals. Businesses and civic organizations also provide
significant support.
Twenty-four hours a day,
seven days a week, our staff is committed to serving and ministering to our
guests. The daily staff is assisted in many tasks by dedicated
volunteers, some of whom are former guests happy to give back to the
Shelter. There is still much work to do, so volunteers are always
welcome.
Work is continuing on the
construction of a new dining room and kitchen in the Shelter building.
Our present dining room and kitchen, located next door, are currently overcrowded.
Volunteer groups from various churches, local businesses and organizations
have been volunteering to help with the work.
Those whom God is leading to share in His
work at Christian Shelter are encouraged to consider giving a few hours to:
1) Helping with the laundry
2) Assisting in the kitchen
3) Working on construction of the
kitchen
4) Donating the following consumable
supplies we are always in great need of: toilet paper,
paper
towels, bleach,
cooking oil, butter or margarine, children's drinks and juices, powdered
drink
mixes, sandwich
bags, and pine-based cleaners.
5) Volunteering on the weekend
6) Making financial contributions to
the Shelter's work.
